Bakersfield, California

Discover the San Joaquin Valley (and Beyond)

Enjoy Easy Access to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park at Bakersfield RV Park!

Bakersfield, California was the fastest growing city in the nation in 2005 for a very good reason: it has a lot to offer and is centrally located between some of the most beautiful places on Earth. Two hours north of Los Angeles, two hours from the ocean, two hours from Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Park, and a mild climate make Bakersfield a gem of the San Joaquin Valley.

Bakersfield RV Park invites you to browse all the region has to offer!

Bakersfield Agriculture

Bakersfield Fields of Roses

Years ago, Bakersfield's local farmers discovered the ideal growing conditions for roses exist right here in the San Joaquin Valley. Currently, 50 million plants grace the Greater Bakersfield area and account for 55% of all the commercial roses grown in the United States. Surrounding Wasco, California, "The Rose Capital of the Nation," just 7 miles from our park, you can visit these fields to experience the roses from every color in the rainbow. They bloom from April to November and it makes a great little sightseeing trip.

The Wasco Festival of Roses

This annual event is held the first weekend after Labor Day. Enjoy rose field tours, outdoor faire with vendors, an indoor art gallery show, a carnival, golf tournament and much more!

Bakersfield Orchards

Bakersfield and the San Joaquin Valley grow more crops per acre than any place in the entire world. Every fruit, nut or vegetable that you can think of is grown here: grapes, oranges, lemons, olives, almonds, apples, carrots, cotton, pistachio, peaches, plums, walnuts, and roses just to name a few. You can come any time of the year, take a short drive in any direction and find a farmers market delight.

Bakersfield Vineyards, Grapes & Raisins

Wine, grapes and raisins are the heart of the agricultural products grown in the greater Bakersfield area. Most of the grapes ripen in August or September and then dry into raisins by the end of September. The almost limitless sunshine turns the fruit as sweet as can be. It’s worth an afternoon to investigate the area to discover the variety of grape crops produced.
